If you have wandered through the streets of Melbourne over the past week, you may have noticed some artistic window displays featuring the sticker Look.Stop.Shop. So what is this all about? It is yet another fantastic design initiative being featured as part of the State of Design Festival which runs until 25 July 2010.

The Look.Stop.Shop guide says it in a nutshell: “Look.Stop.Shop is a design led walk through Melbourne’s city centre, featuring 24 retailers who have created special window displays and in-store installations exploring sustainable design”. And what a walk it is – I didn’t make it to all the shops, but was impressed by the selection I saw!

Part of the adventure of this design led walk, is winding your way by foot through charming city laneways, discovering underground subway shopping centres, and exploring shops and streets you may not normally venture. Armed with the Look.Stop.Shop map, I trod the streets of Melbourne like a tourist, and gained a little more insight into my city that I take for granted. Thanks Look.Stop.Shop!
