Have you noticed the old news stand pillar on the corner of Swanston and Little Collins Street in Melbourne, that has been transformed into a small retail space? The Eco Innovator team transformed the unused news stand in October 2009, and now showcase products that have been made by local designers with the environment in mind!

Packed full of a range of products including wallets made from recycled bike tyres, notebooks made from vintage records, vintage domino necklaces and preloved fabric purses plus more, it is well worth a visit for both locals and visitors alike. You will not only pick up a unique well designed item, but also attain a sustainable piece that is quintessentially Melbourne! The news stand is open weekdays from 11am-3pm, and over the weekends during the Sustainability Festival. It will close in April once the weather becomes too chilly….

I LOVED it! I could have bought the whole stall. Good on them, I felt valued as a customer, shared a great conversation with the stallholder, and bought some fantastic items. Better experience than ANY I have had in swanston/bourke street shops. Thanks!
